Scotland is a town in Windham County, Connecticut, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 1,556. Scotland is a predominantly rural town, with agriculture as the principal industry. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 18.7square miles (48.3km), of which, 18.6square miles (48.2km) of it is land and 0.1square miles (0.1km) of it (0.27%) is water. It was incorporated in 1857.
